Lauren A. Weldon
Lauren grew up in Des Plaines and attended Elk Grove High School. She is very close with her younger sister and parents, who only live a few minutes away. To this day, her dad is always lending a helping hand to her for anything that she might need. She received her undergraduate degree with honors, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina. After college, Lauren moved back to Illinois and attended The John Marshall Law School in Chicago where she took classes at night and worked during the day. By her second year of law school, Lauren had experienced a few different areas of the law as a clerk, however, none of them really sparked her interest. While searching for her niche, she heard about John Marshall's Elder Law Certificate program. She began taking Elder Law classes the following semester and fell in love with this area of the law. By focusing her career in helping seniors and their families, it has allowed her to help a growing segment of the population with their unique needs.
While attending John Marshall, Lauren was a member of the John Marshall Law Review and participated in the John Marshall Law School Manual Project: "SOS: Serving Our Seniors" in conjunction with the Chicago Bar Association. She was a research assistant and Co-Chair of the John Marshall Elder Law Society and worked as a law clerk for the Elder Law Offices of Steven C. Perlis & Associates. Lauren and her husband graduated magna cum laude together in 2011, a first in John Marshall's history.
After graduation, Lauren worked for The Law Office of James C. Siebert & Associates, where she was able to put her skills to use as an Associate at the Arlington Heights Elder Law firm. After two and a half years with the firm, she transitioned her career to another Elder Law Firm, where she met Matt. Lauren enjoyed helping people protect what they value most by designing comprehensive estate plans. She also developed a strong desire to assist seniors and their families in navigating the complexities of long term care planning.
Lauren lives in Mt. Prospect with her husband, a labor and employment attorney, their five kids, two cats, and two dogs. In her free time (the little of it she has) Lauren enjoys riding her horse and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
